History So far and The 2020 New BeginningsNineteen.57 was established in 2015 and born out of the old bar called Henry’s bar, the purpose of the revamp was to change the concept of the venue and move towards a 5 star dinning environment. The building sits at the entrance to the 5 star holiday park, Islawrffordd Caravan Park, the renovation undertaken by the owners of the bar was huge along with the investment to take the establishment to another level, Nineteen.57 could quite easily compete with large city environments.Iola and Sion Wellings decided to take on the brand Nineteen.57 and over there 5 year reign have built up a large clientele that have come to know and love the food and the ambience of restaurant and bar. The Sunday lunch is to die for and currently is fully booked and sold out weekly throughout the year, booking has become essential.Sion Wellings as head chef has drawn people from far and wide to sample his food perfection, Sions ability to understand food and deliver what clients want has been the success story of Nineteen.57 and that coupled with a warm welcome from Iola and the team has built the business to an unrivalled position in the local area.At the end of 2019 the team at Nineteen.57 won the coverted BEST RESTAURANT IN NORTH WALES AWARD, this is an award that the team are very proud of and without a doubt they should be!In October 2019 Iola and Sion decided that they wanted new challenges, the plan was for both to step away from the restaurant and move on to new pastures. The tenancy came up for renewal and Emma & Chris Statham showed interest to taking the lease on to further grow the restaurant and product ranges.During the negotiations between Iola, Sion and Islawrffordd Caravan Park it slowly emerged that Sion was willing to stay involved with the establishment and a deal was struck for Sion to become a partner of the new operating company Nineteen.57 LLP along with Emma & Chris. Sion remains as head chef and will concentrate on new menus, and food development as well as overseeing the day to day running of the kitchen.
A new beginning was set and the new team open the doors of Nineteen.57 on the 6th February 2020, the new team have some exciting ideas and maybe some interesting changes to come over time, the opening hours are likely to change and a range of new dining experiences are hopefully to be made available over the coming months. We intend to open for Breakfast with a unique slant on a breakfast menu, we hope to introduce afternoon teas for those special occasions and for something very different we are planning pre booked beach picnic baskets to suit every requirement.One other major investment and change will be our drinks menu, we are looking to open a dedicated champagne and cocktail bar, with one or two glamorous nibbles whilst you enjoy your favourite glass of fizzy or cocktail.This is a really exciting time for the team and we intend to go the extra mile to ensure the very best dining experience possible.
